There will become a time in every parent’s life where their kid is embarrassed by them. This holds true for celebrity kids, too, and Scarlett Johansson’s 7-year-old daughter recently experienced that moment in her life.

Scarlett was a guest recently on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and during their chat on December 16, she talked about how her oldest child, Rose, is growing up quickly. And that Rose has already reached the point in her childhood where her super famous mom is embarrassing, just like the rest of us.

“I do a little dance when the school bus pulls up,” Scarlett confessed to Jimmy. “And she doesn’t like that.” What does the Black Widow star do about that? Well, she responds in the most mom way possible. “Of course, then I exaggerate it even further,” she admits.

Rose, whom Scarlett shares with ex-husband Romain Dauriac, has also entered the part of childhood where she will push back on anything she’s told to do. “To me, I’m like, I’m not going to argue with her about it,” Scarlett explained about how she handled her daughter’s pushbacks. “That just seems like a conversation that’s not going anywhere good.”

Scarlett is also mom to 4-month-old Cosmo, a baby boy she shares with her husband Colin Jost, and Rose isn’t interested in him either. “She has a lot going on in her life,” Scarlett explained why Rose doesn’t show much interest in her little brother. “She’s got a very active social calendar, so she’s not as interested in the baby, as, I don’t know, let’s say, like, any other thing really.”

There’s some funny comfort in knowing that even the kids of celebrities have no cares what their parents think, too. And, honestly, if Scarlett can embarrass her kid – Scarlett – then we can embrace that skill as well.
