Viral Video of Draco Malfoy Rewatching Harry Potter Is Pure and Good

fans! If you need a little pick-me-up this afternoon, Tom Felton, who played the wry and lovable Slytherin Draco Malfoy in the series, just did the best HP nostalgia video you’ll see today. Accompanied by his adorable pup, Willow, and his ukulele, Felton reminded us of how the series began, right there on 4, Privet Drive. In an Instagram Live, he decided to revisit the first 11 minutes of the first movie in the iconic series, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone (or, as he knows it in the UK, The Philosopher’s Stone), and showed his reaction to watching the film for the first time in 20 years. The 33-year-old Felton was just 13 when he acted in The Sorcerer’s Stone, so seeing the original is bound to bring up quite a few memories for him — and Harry Potter fans, too, who likely grew up with the series. And it certainly did. Felton couldn’t show the audience the actual film due to copyright reasons, but he encouraged fans to follow along and watch the film with him on their own devices. For people watching after his video aired, or for those who don’t have a copy of the film on hand, he played the audio, which is still enough to conjure up and relive memories of The Sorcerer’s Stone. Felton seems overjoyed watching those first few scenes, especially the intro when Dumbledore and McGonagall first arrive outside the Dursley’s, and, as Felton calls him, “blessed” Hagrid flies baby Harry in on a magic motorcycle. Felton watches an 11-year-old Daniel Radcliffe play Harry growing up misunderstood in the Dursley household. Felton’s saddened by the death of Richard Griffiths, who played Vernon Dursley, and he’s shocked by how young Daniel Radcliffe looks. It’s a joy to watch him relive his childhood memories, and he seems pretty emotional throughout his 16-minute video. Check it out below.
