“Hey, here comes that kid with the pants!” And so it begins, as SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy and Plankton meet at Kamp Koral, the place where memories were made, friendships formed, adventures about abounded, and nautical nonsense was born. It’s all right there in the latest trailer for Kamp Koral: SpongeBob Under Years, Nickelodeon’s first-ever SpongeBob spinoff. The CG-animated prequel series, which will premiere March 4 on Paramount+, centers on 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants and his equally young friends during summer sleepaway camp, where they happily pass the hours lighting underwater campfires, snagging wild jellyfish, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck.
As always, the voice cast features such franchise favorites as Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Rodger Bumpass, Clancy Brown, Carolyn Lawrence, and Mr. Lawrence. Among the newcomers are Kate Higgins and Carlos Alazraqui, who respectively voice Narlene and Nobby, narwhal siblings who reside in the woods surrounding the camp.
Paramount+ will stream Kamp Koral’s initial six episodes starting on March 4. The remainder of the season’s 13 episodes will roll out on the streamer at future dates to be announced.
And there’s not a pineapple in sight… yet!
