The season 2 finale of The Mandalorian features the return of a very popular character, a thrilling fight, a big status change for the characters, and yes, the Darksaber. But, if you think the show is over once the credits start rolling, think again. For the first time, this Star Wars show has a post-credits scene. And you 100 percent need to stick around to watch it.

Although post-credits scenes have been around for a while (anyone remember Skeletor’s reemergence in Masters of the Universe?) the Marvel movies have arguably popularized the post-credits scene as a way to tease out a much bigger move for sequels and spin-offs. Now that it’s been a while since we’ve all been able to get excited about going into a darkened theater, the most popular TV series of the moment has delivered a strange coda. Small spoiler coming

The post-credits scene for The Mandalorian Season 2 features Boba Fett rolling up on Jabba’s Palace, killing Jabba’s old buddy Bib Fortuna, and seemingly installing himself as a new crime boss. After this happens, we see text on the screen that says: The Book of Boba Fett, coming December 2021.

Does this mean The Mandalorian Season 3 is actually a new show called The Book of Boba Fett? That remains to be seen! Disney+ and Lucasfilm haven’t announced anything for sure, but considering all the other bonkers plot developments that happened in the finale (we’re gonna save you on the BIG spoiler for now) it’s safe to say we haven’t seen the last of Mando, Baby Yoda, or Baby Yoda’s new babysitter anytime soon.

The Mandalorian Season 2 is streaming now on Disney+.
