Did Disney+ Actually Change the ‘WandaVision’ Post Credits Scene?

Well that's a little...Strange.

Disney+

Disney+ has seemingly changed the post-credits scene in the final episode of WandaVision and it has left fans wondering what it might mean for the future of Wanda and the MCU in general. Strange, right? (Get it, “Strange?”)

Anyway, here is everything you need to know about the biggest MCU mystery since, well… WandaVision.

What Was the Change?

In case you don’t remember the original post-credits scene, here is a brief refresher: after freeing the citizens of Westview from being puppets in her elaborate grief therapy, Wanda isolates herself in a remote cabin and is last seen studying the Darkhold (a magic book) in her astral form.

But fans noticed that the ending has been slightly altered and when we first see the cabin where Wanda is staying, you can also see what appears to be the outline of a person floating down to presumably meet up with her.

Who (Or What) Is the Floating Figure?

Well if this is meant to be a floating figure, the thinking is it’s Doctor Strange. It’s a long-running rumor that the two are going to team up so that he can help teach her about the mystical arts, and Elisabeth Olsen outright confirmed with Fatherly she’s filming Doctor Strange 2.

It should be noted that some people are saying that the theorizing about this “floating figure” is internet speculation run amok and it is most likely just a blurred-out helicopter or even just a drop of water on a camera lens. In fact, an article on GamesRadar claims the change is some kind of post-production fix to erase a strange lighting effect from the original version. As they claim:

“It’s just an editing goof from a lighting effect being airbrushed out. Unfortunately for Marvel, it’s present across every frame of the WandaVision post-credits scene. Oops. Curiously, a handful of ducks have also been removed.”

So, Wanda probably didn’t remove those ducks. It was just Marvel “cleaning” something up.

What Does This Mean for the MCU?

Probably nothing new. Scarlet Witch will team up with Doctor Strange in Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness, but this weird change doesn’t impact that one way or another.

So Why Did They Change the Ending?

It seems like it’s just a technical thing! Or… has Wanda erased our memories to make us think that?
