Budweiser Promises Free Beer This Summer If the US Hits Biden’s Vaccine Goal

This vax is for you.

GETTY

There are two words that will almost always entice an exhausted dad to an outdoor social gathering, even if he doesn’t really want to go. Those two words are “free beer.” Now that the summer of 2021 is upon us, drinking beer outside is one of the greatest gifts for a certain kind of parent. (Not just dads!) And now, if the country gets its act together and hits President Biden’s proposed 70 percent vaccination rate across the United States, Anheuser-Busch is ready to start giving out some free beer.

According to the New York Times, Anheuser-Busch will offer a $5 dollar virtual credit for all adults (21+) as soon as the US hits the 70 percent vaccination rate.

This may not sound like a lot. But, when you consider that most six-packs of Budweiser cans cost about $7 bucks, you’re basically looking at a free six-pack. Right now, it’s unclear how many times you’ll be able to collect on these free beers, but even one free six-pack seems like a reasonable way to celebrate the 4th of July.

That said, this might not happen at all, since US vaccination rates have slowed recently, and men specifically are likely the cause.

So, if dudes want some free beer, and for the lives of everyone not to suck profoundly, it’s time to close that vaccination gap. And let the rest of us drink some Bud!
