Disney kept Baby Yoda merchandise off of shelves to preserve the surprise reveal of the Child at the end of the first episode of The Mandalorian. It looks like a pretty canny move, as the show has been a big success and a huge lift to Disney+, but it did mean that the only way to get your hands on the cutest, most meme-able character in the Star Wars universe was through unofficial channels.
Now, just over three months later, we’re finally starting to see some of the hotly anticipated official Baby Yoda toys, many of which will make their debut at this weekend’s Toy Fair. Here are four of the best.
Available this fall, this interactive pet version of The Child has over 25 different sound and motion combinations that are activated with a pat on the head. The head and ears move while the eyes open and close while Baby Yoda giggles and babbles away. It can also raise its arm, close its eyes, and sigh as if using the Force to save Mando, which means a Force Nap—activated by laying down the doll—might be in order.
If your kid loves Star Wars and stuffed animals, Build-A-Bear's take on Baby Yoda is a must-buy. It has the floppy ears, wrinkly face, and huge eyes that make the character so damn cute along with the quality softness that's a hallmark of the brand. It's listed as coming soon on the website, so we aren't quite sure when you'll be able to stuff your own at the local Build-A-Bear Workshop.
If your kid likes soft toys that also talk (and they don't drive you too crazy) then this seven-and-a-half-inch long plush might be the right toy for them. Posable arms will let them mimic Baby Yoda's Force grip, and a squeeze of his torso activates character sounds. It also comes with a bone broth bowl and Sorgan frog so the little guy won't ever go hungry.
These collectible figures, each 2.2. inches tall, capture Baby Yoda is all its glory. They're being sold in two-packs, and our favorite is this pair the captures the little guy slurping down a frog and using the Force.
