Watch: 'Paw Patrol: The Movie' Is Bringing Out the "Big Shots"

by Harlan Sharpe

Although making fun of Paw Patrol is something of a sport for contemporary parents, even the most cynical among us recognize that these pups mean well. And, if you’re looking for something to park your kids in front of for an hour or so, on August 20, there will be a new, feature-length Paw Patrol adventure.

And, unlike the TV series, the upcoming release — Paw Patrol: The Movie — has some big stars in new voice roles. In a new exclusive clip, Tyler Perry, Dax Shepard, Jimmy Kimmel, Kim Kardashian, and Yara Shahidi all talk about why they’re actually pumped to be a part of the Paw Patrol universe. At one point, Kimmel quips that because his son is “non-stop Paw Patrol,” doing a voice in the movie makes him “hopeful that this will make me a big shot, at least for a couple of days.” Kimmel also notes that he feels like he’s heard the Paw Patrol theme song more than he’s heard “happy birthday.”

Also along for the ride is Dax Shepard, who previously, made a hilarious video commenting about the inescapable nature of Paw Patrol, which likens his love of the show to something hovering near Stockholm syndrome. But, in the new video, Shepard admits that he deeply loves Paw Patrol. “As soon as you have kids, you start watching a lot of cartoons,” he says. “Paw Patrol is the first one I loved watching with my kids.”

Paw Patrol: The Movie will hit theaters and stream on Paramount+ on August 20, 2021. The regular series is also streaming on Paramount+, we’ve got more details here.
