Makey Makey blew minds at last year’s American International Toy Fair, because an invention kit that can turn a bunch of bananas into a keyboard (and pretty much anything into a touchpad) will do that. About the only way it could have been better was if it was so small, you could carry on a keychain or wear as an earring. Wait a second …

According to manufacturer Joylabz, Makey Makey GO is “the World’s First Invention Kit that goes with you everywhere.” It can be used to do ridiculous things like turn a Jello mold into a videogame joystick or a slackline into a video game. But, really, all you need to know is the SmartPie Selfie camera automatically snaps a photo when your kid takes a cream pie to the face.

This exemplar of human ingenuity unsurprisingly crushed its Kickstarter funding goal within days, but you can still be one of the first to get your hands on one in time for Christmas (they ship in November) with just a $19 pre-order. That’s a small price to pay for a USB stick that bridges the gap between your computer or tablet and the real world in ways that are questionably useful but unquestionably hilarious.
