Between 1997 and 2009, Baby Einstein became nearly as ubiquitous in nurseries as Dr. Suess. Then a class action lawsuit forced parent company Disney’s hand regarding dubious claims that the product could make infants smarter just by putting them in front of a TV. The whole sordid taleis a good reminder that any product offering a shortcut to your kid’s development is probably not worth buying.
