The Original ‘My Little Pony’ Dolls Are Back

They even come with the classic comb, hair ribbon, and mini collector poster.

It’s been 35 years since My Little Pony dolls first captured the hearts of young children (and grown men) around the world. And while Hasbro has revived the collection of colorful horses several times since 1983, the rebooted toys have always gotten a new look. Meanwhile, collectors, nostalgists, and Bronies who wanted the originals were forced to pay big bucks on eBay. Until now.

To celebrate the big 35th anniversary, Hasbro has teamed up with Basic Fun to unveil a collectors line of the original Ponys ⏤ and they’ve already started to hit store shelves. The six new ‘old’ dolls include Blue Bell, Snuzzle, Butterscotch, Minty, Blossom, and Cotton Candy and, for all intents and purposes, look pretty much like the originals ⏤ right down to the classic comb, hair ribbon, and mini collector poster accessories. Although some people online have said they noticed slight differences. Either way, close enough.

In addition to this first drop, they’ll be another wave of retro Ponies out this summer. The original Rainbow Ponies with the crazy colored hair ⏤ Starshine, Windy, Parasol, Skydancer, Moonstone, Sunlight, and Peachy ⏤ are slated for release in July and will come in original-styled packaging with a comb, brush, and sticker. You can almost feel the anticipation at BronyCon now. All the Ponies run $10 each and are being sold exclusively at Toys ‘R’ Us and Target.
