In the upcoming episode of David Letterman’s new Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, George Clooney opens up about how his wife Amal and their twins Alexander and Ella have made the A-list actor a better man. Letterman and Clooney discuss how becoming a father completely rewires a guy’s priorities by upending a bachelors wants and needs.

Clooney is effusive about how much having a family has changed him in every conceivable way. He admits it’s a bit odd but ultimately loves having people in his life he cares about more than himself, as it’s allowed a new selflessness. Clooney also takes the opportunity to gush about his wife for a bit, telling Letterman that even before he became a dad, he felt that unconditional love towards Amal.

“I have to say before I had the twins, I felt that about her,” Clooney told Letterman. “I felt that I met someone who I would absolutely trade my life for. I met someone that her life meant more to me than my life, and I’d never had that experience before.”

For a long time, Clooney was regarded as one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors but these days he is fully dedicated to being a husband and a father of two. And while some may wonder if Clooney misses his wild and free lifestyle, the actor seems to much prefer his life now as a doting husband and loving father.
