Sesame Workshop, the non-profit behind Sesame Street, has paired up with Discovery Education to develop an early learning channel. The new channel will be designed to meet the educational needs of kids. Here’s what it offers and what you need to know.

Sesame Workshop and Discovery Education are looking to strengthen the educational resources for kids from pre-kindergarten through grade two. The new channel will feature a variety of resources that include activities, interactive games, educational resources, video content, lesson plans, and partnership supports for families.

The new resources are being developed to act as an educational bridge designed to address new and continuing learning gaps associated with the interruption of school over the past few years.

The content touches on foundational academic skills in literacy and math, plus social study lessons that focus on social and emotional development and wellness. The new channel will lean on some of Sesame Workshop’s bundle of media including The Electric Company and Sesame Street, plus more.

Combining the two resources seems to give the learning channel the best possible start to really help kids not only catch up and soar in their education, but encourage the learning in ways that are fun, engaging, and doesn’t feel like a chore.

“Discovery Education’s 20+ years of expertise in the learning space and their leadership in delivering high-quality supplemental curriculum at tremendous scale make them an ideal collaborator in our efforts to help all children grow smarter, stronger, and kinder,” Akimi Gibson, Vice President & Educational Publisher, Sesame Workshop said.

The Sesame Workshop channel will be available this fall on the Discovery Education learning platform.
