Samuel L. Jackson Marvel Show In the Works For Disney+

Guess who is FINALLY getting their own damn Marvel show?

We want all these mothertrucking Disney shows off this mothertrucking streaming service! Make room for Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury!

According to a report in Variety, Samuel L. Jackson will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Nick Fury in some kind of new Disney+ series. Whether or not the series is actually about Nick Fury specifically is unclear, but we imagine Nick Fury might have something to say about it if it’s not. The last few times we saw Nick Fury in a Marvel movie was briefly in Avengers: Endgame, and more prominently as his de-aged self in Captain Marvel, in which we learned how and why he has that eyepatch. He was also a huge part of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which made us wonder about who plays Mace Windu in the Star Wars movies Peter Parker watches.

According to Variety: “The exact plot details of the show are being kept under wraps, but multiple sources say Jackson is attached to star with Kyle Bradstreet attached to write and executive produce. Like all the other Marvel shows at Disney Plus, Marvel Studios will produce.” They also note that Disney and Samuel L. Jackson have not confirmed this is happening.

Perhaps most relevantly though, is the idea that this Nick Fury TV could take place ANYWHERE. The post-credits scene of Far From Home revealed that Nick Fury had swapped places with a shapeshifting Skrull at some period of time that has yet to be revealed. (This would retroactively mean that Nick Fury wasn’t “really” on Earth during certain Marvel movies.) What’s the upshot of this? Samuel L. Jackson could be flying around in space in this new Disney+ show doing whatever the hell he wants.
