The New ‘LEGO Ninjago Movie’ Trailer Promises Lots Of Kung-Fu Fighting
The LEGO Batman Movie is grappling its way into theaters this weekend. But the company is already building away at its next big spinoff: The LEGO Ninjago Movie. The official trailer for the film released today — and it promises a lot of brick-on-brick Kung-Fu action.
Ninjago has been a LEGO toy line since 2011, spawning a vast world of original stories and characters within the universe. It has ninja masters and ninja villains. Plus, there are mech dragons and what warm-blooded kid could resist a robotic fire-breather?
The movie follows Lloyd the Green Ninja (Dave Franco) who teams up with other primary and secondary colored ninjas in Cole, Nya, Jay, Kai, and Zane. Together they’re led by Master Wu (Jackie Chan) on a quest to save Ninjago City from the super evil Garmadon (Justin Theroux). Plus, Lloyd and Garmadon are father and son. So it’s like The Empire Strikes Back, but this time the dad is funny and probably won’t dismember his son. But if he does, LEGO hands are pretty easy to reattach.
The LEGO Ninjago Movie hits theaters September 22.
