Kelsey Grammer Movie ‘Like Father’ Takes Inspiration From Real Dads and Daughters

The new Netflix movie knows what real dads and daughters are like.

Netflix

Dr. Fraiser Crane is getting a taste of his own medicine. In one scene from the new Netflix comedy, Like Father, Kesley Grammer’s character is told by a shrink on a cruise ship that everything wrong in his adult daughter’s life is totally his fault. In Like Father, Grammer isn’t playing a funny therapist, but instead, a father trying to mend his relationship with his estranged daughter, played by Kristen Bell. After her wedding goes wrong, and her father shows up out of nowhere, the two somehow end up on a cruise. Though it’s a comedy, the movie will probably touch a raw nerve for anyone who had a rocky relationship with their father as a grown-up.

Ahead of the movie’s release on Netflix this Friday, the studio just released a video depicting real dads and daughters reconnecting after years of estrangement. It’s not always easy to watch, but without a doubt, this mini-documentary captures the essence of broken relationships that find their way back to love. Check it out below.

Real Fathers & Daughters Reconnect | Like Father

Grab the tissues and watch these real life fathers reconnect with their daughters, sometimes after years apart.

The actual new movie, Like Father, hits Netflix on August 3. You can watch the trailer here, which, while a bit of contrast to the real-life video above, still highlights why the actions of parents — and fathers in specific — are so important to get right the first time.

On a lighter note, Grammer and Bell look hilarious in this movie and we totally buy them as father and daughter. This looks like one not to miss.
