How To Watch Biden-Harris Inauguration TV Special

America's dad is hosting the inauguration. But there's also a kid-focused version, too.

The Inaugration of Joe Biden is here. As of now, several news outlets are streaming coverage of the Biden-Harris Inauguration. Here’s everything to know about where to stream and what is happening during the celebrations. Essentially you need to know three things: the Inauguration itself, the kid-friendly version, and the afterparty.

Most major news outlets will cover the Inauguration itself. We’ve got the PBS News hours streaming that above. There’s also a kid-friendly version called “Our White House.” Which starts streaming at 10:00 AM EST.

Finally, there’s a prime-time event, called “Celebrating America,” which is basically the after-party. That’s hosted by Tom Hanks and starts at 8:30 PM EST.

Above, is a handy YouTube video from the PBS News Hour, which is streaming everything live as of right now. Here’s how everything else shakes out.

Watching the Inauguration

You’ve got several options here. Again, we’ve embedded the YouTube livestream from the PBS News Hour, but there re several other options, including:

  • Amazon Prime Video
  • Facebook
  • YouTube (that’s embedded above)
  •  Twitter
  • DirecTV
  • U-verse
  • Microsoft Bing,
  • NewsNow.

“Our White House” (Kid-Centric Inauguration coverage)

There’s also a kid-focused version of the Inauguration called “Our White House.” This begins streaming at 10:00 AM EST on January 20. (YouTube link embedded above). It is hosted by actress Keke Palmer and will feature Jill Biden, a lifelong educator. You can watch that right here. Here’s a lot more info on that (Including a coloring book, and a segment on presidential pets!)

Tom Hanks hosting Celebrating America

America’s Dad is ready to help soothe our rattled nation. Tom Hanks will host Celebrating America, a 90-minute primetime TV special – airing pretty much everywhere at 8:30 EST on January 20 — commemorating the inauguration of Joe Biden as President of the United States and Kamala Harris as Vice President. According to its producers, the 90-minute special “will showcase the American people’s resilience, heroism, and a unified commitment to coming together as a nation to heal and rebuild” following the deadly riots at the Capitol earlier this month. Among those confirmed to perform are Justin Timberlake (with Ant Clemons), Demi Lovato, and Jon Bon Jovi. Timberlake and Clemons have already announced on Instagram that they will perform their new collaboration, “Better Days,” which they wrote and recorded during the pandemic.

In addition to welcoming Biden and Harris as the nation’s 46th President and 49th Vice President, Celebrating America will honor “American heroes who are helping their fellow Americans through this crisis, including frontline workers, health care workers, teachers, citizens giving back, and those who are breaking barriers,” according to a statement from Presidential Inaugural Committee.

The special – set to cap a day of inaugural events — will be available as a live broadcast via ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC. And it will also be streamed live on  the following:

  • Amazon Prime Video
  • Facebook
  • YouTube (that’s embedded above)
  •  Twitter
  • DirecTV
  • U-verse
  • Microsoft Bing,
  • NewsNow.

In addition to Hanks, Timberlake, Clemons, Lovato, and Bon Jovi, the ’90s one-hit-wonder band The New Radicals will feature in something called Parade Across America. It’s gonna be a party! (YouTube link embedded above.)
