Watch LeBron James Represent Every Parent Watching Their Kid Play Sports

King James is just an overly enthusiastic sports dad like everyone else.

LeBron James may be one of the most gifted athletes to ever walk the earth, but when it comes to watching his kids play sports, he’s just an overly enthusiastic sports dad like everyone else. Earlier this week, James attended the Big Foot Hoops Las Vegas Classic to watch his son Bronnie and the North Coast Blue Chips battle Chauncey Billups Elite. The team names might not be great, but the on-court action was, as Bronnie once again showed that he is a chip off the old block with his ability to create plays and get to the basket. But watching James watch his son was the best part.

One might expect a man as poised as James to maintain his chill on the sideline, but he looks more nervous cheering his kid on from the sideline than he has ever looked on a basketball court. He is in full dad mode, excitedly rooting on Bronnie and trying — but mostly failing — to resist the urge to loudly offer his opinions and insights to anyone who will listen.

Perhaps the most endearingly overbearing sports dad moment from James was during a timeout when he noticed there was a problem with the score. James quickly let the scoring table know about the issue and then happily walked back to the sideline to enjoy the game. Well played, Papa James.

James didn’t seem to want to attract too much attention to himself, but that’s easier said than done when you are 6’8″ and one of the most recognizable people in the world. Chauncey Billups, former NBA player Nate Robinson, and Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue were also in attendance, giving the kids some A-list spectators. But, considering Bronnie is already being courted by several colleges despite only being 12, we imagine this is merely training for his future play — and means it won’t be the last we see of LeBron James: Supportive Sports Dad.
