Crying Baby Interrupts Roger Federer, Who Laughs It Off Like a Dad

The father of four wouldn't want anyone thinking he was trying to throw his opponent off!

While breezing through his match against Aljaz Bedene in the first round of the Australian Open, Swiss tennis superstar Roger Federer had spectators in stitches with his cheeky response to a baby crying in the crowd.

Halfway through the third set of a match, just as he raised his arm to serve the ball to Federer, Bedene paused at the sound of a baby crying loudly enough to be clearly audible around Rod Laver Arena. Federer looked out to the crowd, paused for a beat, and said, “It’s not mine.” Federer was, while being handsome and pleasant, referencing the fact that he has four children (two sets of identical twins) who had all traveled with him and his wife to Australia for the open.

Federer went on to soundly beat Bedene in a little over an hour and a half (that’s about 50 percent the average time of a professional men’s tennis match).
