Lead: bad for gasoline, even worse for your kid, and if your home was built in the 1950s or earlier it may be painted all over the walls. You only need to worry about it if you plan on renovating – as long as the paint is intact, it doesn’t pose any threat. Once you start cutting into walls and the like, the paint dust is potentially toxic for infant, so it’s best to test.
