This Kid Filmed His Mom Giving Birth in the Front Seat of Their Car

The video quickly went viral.

A Nevada woman unexpectedly gave birth to her daughter in a moving car – and her 11-year-old son captured it all on video. When Rudy Naper and her husband Addison piled their three children into their truck, they were expecting to make a routine visit to the hospital for Naper’s final pregnancy check-up. However, things suddenly took a turn when she began experiencing labor pains.

Napier wasn’t due to give birth until about two weeks later on June 8, but contractions began during the five-minute drive to the hospital.  Napier’s 11-year-old son, Jaydon, must have known that this was the real deal. He quickly pulled out a phone and began filming his mother. The footage was later uploaded to Facebook by Naper’s husband and has garnered 10 million views and over  76,000 shares.

In the video, Naper is clearly in intense pain, and her two other children (8-year-old Jai’ahni and 4-year-old Jaida) are (understandably) concerned. She reassures them as Addison turns to the camera and tells his soon-to-be-daughter: “Hey Jolee, it’s your father, I just wanted to let you know you’re making a grand presence in my car. We’re on our way to the hospital, we love you and we’ll see you soon.”

At the one minute, 33 second mark, Napier’s water breaks and her daughter is born. She later told Inside Edition that “It was an experience, and it was the scariest and best experience I ever had,” and Addison described it as “a BEAUTIFUL nightmare!!” on Facebook.

11-year-old Jayden told People that the whole ordeal was “crazy, honestly.”  “I would say I was surprised ’cause we were just in the backseat,” he continued. “I was recording and I guess he forgot I had the phone.”
