Jaden Smith had a lot of fans cheering him on when he took the stage on Friday night at Coachella. But his biggest fan wasn’t in the crowd—he was right next to him. Dad Will Smith joined his son onstage at the concert to perform a song with him.
“Done did ‘dat,” Smith captioned a clip of the duo’s performance which he shared to Instagram. In the video, which already has nearly 10.5 million views, he and his son rap the lyrics to Jaden’s hit tune “Icon” together. They were also joined by Smith’s TK-year-old daughter Willow while wife Jada Pinkett Smith watched from the sidelines.
Towards the end of his surprise appearance, Smith shouted, “This is my first time on the Coachella stage, ain’t no way I’m going off like that. Run it one more time!”
And people on social media are loving it. “This is fucking legendary!! Historic! Iconic!” commented one viewer, adding, “To see a father supporting his son and rocking the stage with him…this is a moment to remember.”
It isn’t the first time that the I Am Legend actor has shown his support for his son. When Jaden’s album SYRE reached 100 million streams on Spotify in February 2018, Smith recorded a hilarious remake of his son’s music video for “Icon.” Along with the clip, on a more serious note, he wrote, “It is a delicious gift to a parent to admire his children. Keep doin’ you!”
And next up for the 50-year-old? Disney’s live-action Aladdin movie, which is set to be released in theaters on May 24.
