We are living in the year of sequels, with countless beloved franchises set to release new chapters in 2019, including the Avengers, Star Wars, and Toy Story. But perhaps no sequel is more highly-anticipated than Frozen 2, as the original movie has become a true cultural phenomenon in the six years since the world first heard Elsa “Let It Go.” And while Frozen fans will have to wait until November to watch the sequel, they can catch a glimpse of Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff in the debut trailer for Frozen 2, which dropped online today.
Unsurprisingly, the trailer does not give much away in terms of plot details or character development, as it’s way too early for Disney to let us know what Frozen 2 is actually about. However, there’s still a ton of awesome stuff in the two-minute teaser, most notably Elsa using her ice powers to pull a Jesus and walk on freaking water (though she may want to try it out on some smaller waves next time).
The trailer also gives viewers brief glimpses of the rest of the squad, with Kristoff and Sven leading a cavalry of reindeer while Anna tries to jump from one end of a broken stone bridge to another without falling to her death. Olaf also shows up at the very end, though sadly, the scene-stealing snowman doesn’t get to fire off one of his classic one-liners (the entire trailer features no dialogue). What does any of this mean? No clue but for the first time in forever, we can’t wait to return to Arendelle find out.
Frozen 2 arrives in theaters on Nov. 22, 2019.
