As the former drummer for Nirvana and frontman for the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl has been one of the world’s biggest rock star for almost three decades. He also has three daughters, and as they get older, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that he’s passed his musical talents on to them.
Previously, Grohl’s middle daughter Harper made it clear she had inherited some of her dad’s legendary drumming skills when she joined him on stage during a Foo Fighters concert in Iceland and destroyed with the sticks. This week, however, it was 12-year-old Violet. Sitting alongside her dad, who was playing acoustic guitar, she performed a stunning rendition of Adele’s ‘When We Were Young.’
Violet has an undeniable soulfulness in her voice and she absolutely nails her cover of the popular Adele song, managing to effortlessly hit every note. As his daughter brought down the house, Grohl stood by proudly and was beaming as he strummed along. According to Mashable, the performance was for the Notes & Words benefit concert, an annual event that raises money for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
Rolling Stone reported that Violet and her dad performed several other songs at the event, including a cover of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” that featured Harper on the drums. Hopefully, when Grohl’s youngest daughter, 3-year-old Opehlia, is a little older, this ridiculously talented crew will tour as a family band.
