This New Scooby Doo-Batman Movie Looks Surprisingly Awesome

What happens when the world's greatest detectives join forces to solve a crime?

YouTube/WarnerBros

We all know Batman is cool. But have you ever wondered how much cooler the Caped Crusader would be if he traded in Robin for a talking dog who solved crimes? Now you can find out: Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold is available on DVD, Blu-Ray, or digital download starting today. In the new totally real film, Batman and the Mystery Gang join forces when they uncover a plot to terrorize Gotham that’s been orchestrated by “villains from both of their respective rogues’ galleries,” including the Joker, Catwoman, Spooky Space Kook, and Gentleman Ghost.

The preview clip begins like any classic episode of Scooby Doo: Fred, Vilma, and Daphne are setting a trap while Shaggy and Scooby unwittingly play the part of the terrified bait. But just as the ghouls are about to run into the trap, a mysterious object appears and explodes, scaring away the evil spirits. Where did this device come from? Batman, of course, who’s trying to convince those meddling kids to get out of his way while he’s fighting crime. They begin to argue but before things get too tense, the lights dim and an ominous laugh can be heard in the distance.

On paper, the idea of the Caped Crusader teaming up with a hyper-intelligent Great Dane and his groovy teen friends might seem odd but, at the end of the day, Scooby and Batman are both top notch sleuths with a hunger for justice. Plus, should a man who dresses up as a bat to catch bad guys really feel that out of place hanging out in the Mystery Machine? While the clip shows Batman mocking the idea of joining forces with Scooby and friends, we have a feeling he’ll eventually come around ⏤ and maybe even enjoy a delicious Scooby Snack.
