Tori Spelling Gets Parent-Shamed Online For the Way She Dresses Her Kids

Spelling wasted very little time hitting the high road.

It seems like all of the famous parents sending their kids back to school this month just can’t catch a break on social media. This time, when actress Tori Spelling, of Beverly Hills, 90210 fame, posted a picture of her four children on the first day of school, commentators immediately shamed the kids for not only their attire but their physical shape as well. Fortunately, Spelling had more than a few strong words in response.

“They’re looking somewhat disheveled and not entirely happy on their first day of school,” one user wrote, despite the fact that almost all of the kids are smiling in the picture, while another said that the kids “just rolled out of bed and put on what was on the floor,”

One commenter even chimed in with their perpetually inaccurate and condescending take, writing that “The kids are fat. Fat isn’t healthy.”

  1. What is your biggest fear related to the coronavirus pandemic?
Given mortality rates, I'm scared my parents will die.
Given what we don't know, I'm scared my kids will get sick.
Given the economic situation, I'm scared of the financial damage.
Given the news, I'm scared I'll continue to be cooped up with family.
Thanks for the feedback!

Fortunately, Spelling’s 18-month old son wasn’t in the photograph or all of the commenters and trolls might have taken the opportunity to criticize the appearance of a child before their second birthday. But rather than stoop to their level, Spelling hit the high road hard and told off the haters.

“I am a proud mama bear and I enjoy sharing our family journey with my family, friends, fans and online supportive and loyal community,” she said. “For all the individuals on here that felt the need to #momshame and #kidshame me and my children I say ‘Shame on you!’ I was raised to believe that if you can’t say anything nice about someone then don’t say anything at all,”
