Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is saying “Aloha” to singledom and, well, “Aloha” to marriage. The action star and all-around badass snuck off to Hawaii on Sunday to marry long-time girlfriend Lauren Hashian.
Johnson, 47, and Hashian, a 34-year-old singer-songwriter, have been dating since 2007. They met the previous year while Johnson filmed The Game Plan near Boston in 2006.
The couple has two kids, Jasmine, 3, and Tiana, 1. Johnson has another daughter, 18-year-old Simone, from a previous marriage to Dany Garcia, a producer and the co-founder with Johnson of Seven Bucks Productions.
Great dad that he is, Johnson remains on good terms with Garcia, and her brother Hiram, a professional photographer, took the photos Johnson posted to Instagram to announce his nuptials.
They show Johnson and Hashian absolutely beaming, each dressed completely in white with flowers—twin draped leis for him and a classic bouquet for her.
The caption read, simply “We do.” along with the date and the Hawaiian word Pōmaika’i, which means blessed.
The surprise nuptials come just a year after The Rock suggested that he wasn’t in a rush to tie the knot.
“I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, ‘Oh, did you get married?’” he told Entertainment Tonight last year. “I’m like, ‘No. Easy. Don’t rush big daddy.”
It’s hard to argue that a 12-year-relationship is rushing anything, and judging by the smiles the two have in their wedding photos they made the right choice by getting hitched.
