As he famously promised, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator is, indeed and in fact, back. New photos from Terminator: Dark Fate have dropped, and you’re not even going to care if the next movie is good or not. And that’s because it’s really great to see Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton back. And the best news is, you won’t have to wait long for the movie, either.
On Thursday, in addition to the new photos, Paramount and 20th Century Fox revealed the exact release date for Terminator: Dark Fate. 35 years and five days after the first movie hit theaters, Dark Fate will hit theaters on November 1, 2019. Basically, now you know what you’re going to see until Star Wars comes out in December.
Dark Fate is a direct sequel to Judgment Day, disregarding the events of the intervening films. Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton will reprise their roles as T-800 and Sarah Connor, respectively, and James Cameron is back a producer.
Here are those new photos.
With a beard and graying hair, Arnold’s grizzled look is a big departure from his sunglass-and-shiny leather look in the original film.
Hamilton looks like a straight badass with short blonde hair and pitch-black aviators standing in front of flaming wreckage.
Mackenzie Davis, whose previous sci-fi work includes Blade Runner 2049 and The Martian appears to be doing some ass-kicking, judging by the metal chain wrapped around her wrist.
Gabriel Luna plays a newer, younger Terminator, and the image shows him clad in a military jumpsuit walking with purpose through some kind of stainless steel-laden industrial facility.
Diego Boneta’s role isn’t listed on the IMDB page for the film, but the relatively unknown Mexican actor looks to be nervously driving a car. Is he being pursued? That’s a pretty safe bet!
Natalia Reyes will play Dani Ramos, and this photo makes it look like she might have some kind of a desert-based trek to tackle.
We still don’t know much about the film, but these pictures, are like a teaser for the eventual release of a trailer, are getting us pumped for the reboot of the franchise.
