In honor of Baby Safety Month, Target is bringing back its popular car seat trade-in deal. It started on Sunday and runs through September 22. And while the company’s last trade-in event in April let parents recycle any used or broken car seat in exchange for 20 percent off another car seat, this month Target is taking the deal to a whole new level. For any car seat that parents are no longer using, they will now receive 20 percent off of all types of baby gear, including strollers, high chairs, swings, and bouncers.
To take advantage of the deal, customers simply need to bring their recycled car seat to the Guest Services counter at their local Target. It’s a one-coupon-per-car-seat-promotion and the coupons have to be used either online or in the store by October 6th.
Part of an effort to encourage the responsible recycling of the seats, Target is teaming up with Waste Management for the event, and the recycling company will take the materials from the seats and repurpose them into everything from plastic buckets to steel beams. More importantly, the promotion will make sure that even more parents have a car seat that’s up-to-date and safe. Since Target kicked off the event in April 2016, the company’s recycled more than 306,000 car seats.
