How to Get Your Family Into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland This Summer

Is Obi-Wan your only hope? Nope. You can beat the system. But it will require patience.

Disney Parks

In the story of Star Wars, hotheaded impatience always causes problems. From Luke rushing in quickly before he’s ready, to Han Solo’s cockiness, the low-key real-world lesson of Star Wars is probably: slow down. And, if you want to get your family into the new high-coveted Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attractions at Disneyland or Disney World, you’re going to have to slow your roll. The only way to score these tickets is — as Yoda would recommend — to be patient as hell.

If you want to go to Disneyland and hit-up Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge before July, the answer is, you probably can’t. That’s right, the reservations are pretty much already taken. There is one strange workaround though. If you decide to stay at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels, they will figure out how to squeeze you in. From the Disney Parks blog:

“At this time, reservations are no longer available, but if you stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel between May 31 and June 23, 2019, you can receive a designated reservation to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during your stay [one reservation per registered guest; valid theme park admission required].”

So, if you want to get a cheap hotel in Anaheim or Orlando and head over the Disneyland or Disney World from May to June this summer, you will not be able to go to Star Wars land. But, if you decide to shell out the dough to stay in the official Disney hotels, then, they will give you a special Star Wars pass. After June 23 though, you might be able to get reservations to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge the old-fashion way.

Here’s the link to get Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservations, after June 23.

And, here’s the link to book rooms at Disneyland Resort Hotels. (To be clear, these start at $559 a night, which isn’t even factoring in admission to the park, or the cost of a fancy lightsaber.)
