Serena Williams’ Daughter Is on Her Way to Becoming a Tennis Pro

Like mother, like daughter.

Look out Venus—there may soon be a new tennis star in the Williams family. On Monday, Serena Williams shared an adorable video to Instagram of her daughter Olympia playing with a tennis racket.

“History in the making…” Williams captioned the clip, which shows one-year-old Olivia running back and forth to the closet grabbing tennis racket after tennis racket. While she starts swinging the first one by the net, she eventually corrects her grip and, by the end, is holding the handle like a pro.

Proud dad Alexis Ohanian, Williams’ husband and founder of Reddit, praised his daughter’s newfound passion, commenting, “Smash that racket, babygirl.”

And Ohanian isn’t the only one loving his toddler’s tennis talent. The video has already received nearly two million views and over 435,000 likes—many of which are from the couple’s famous friends.

“This is ridiculous. Now, she’s going to start kicking ass on the court before she can talk?” Chelsea Handler joked while Olivia Wilde wrote, “Already better than me.” Even Justin Timberlike chimed in with a simple “Uh oh” and a 100 emoji.

Serena’s skills could be rubbing off on her daughter, who was born in September 2017, thanks to the amount of time the two spend together. The 37-year-old tennis champ previously told PEOPLE, “I’m a super hands-on mom. I am with her every day since she was born. We haven’t spent a day apart.”

And Williams, who started playing tennis when she was just slightly older than Olympia at four years old, hopes she is setting an example for her toddler. “We should be proud of each other, support each other, and be inspired by each other, and that’s what I like to teach to Olympia as well,” she said to Brit + Co.
