Posh Spice’s Son Got More TikTok Followers Because of His Mom and Not His Famous Dad

Sorry, David Beckham!

I have no idea what it’s like to have a famous parent, but I imagine there’s a lot of good that comes with the bad. For Romeo Beckham, he has that dynamic times two since both his parents are famous. He has soccer star, David Beckham, as his dad and 90s megastar, Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice of Spice Girls fame, who happens to be his mom. It’s easy for us to pick out the perks of his lifestyle with two famous parents, but I don’t know if we would have ever realized his famous mom has more social media pull than his dad.

Victoria Beckham was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and shared the story of how her 17-year-old son Romeo used her fame to get a little something for himself.

“He came home the other day, and he said, ‘You know, Mom, I’ve just joined TikTok, will you do a dance with me?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, what should we dance to?’ He said the Spice Girls,” Victoria told Ellen DeGeneres. “And then he took my phone, he posted it on my Instagram, and he said, ‘That’ll get my numbers up.’”

In the clip, Victoria and her son dance to the Spice Girls hit “Spice Up Your Life,” and he was right, using his mom did help his own status and clout on social media. He used Victoria’s 27.3 million Instagram followers to send more eyes to his new TikTok account.

“Go watch our tik Tok 😂,” he posted to his mom’s Instagram Stories with a tag to his new profile on TikTok where the full video of the two of them dancing was posted. His strategy clearly worked because he’s now gained 143,400 followers on TikTok, and it’s growing steadily.

The best part of all this is that Romeo knows the power of the Spice Girls’ fame and isn’t shy about tapping into the power of the girl group over his sports-star dad.
