Parents giving Christmas gifts to their kid’s teachers is hardly a new tradition, but a parental unit from Dayton, Ohio has skipped the apples and opted for grapes. The plucky mom and dad decided to gift their son’s teachers with bottles of wine complete with labels bearing their probably not-so-precious angel’s mug. DJ Sommers, the brother of the bottled boy, shared a photo of the wine on Twitter. “My parents always get our elementary school teachers a present around Christmas.” he tweets. “Typically something small like a candle or flower to say thank you. This year they got them bottles of wine & replaced the labels with their own with my brother on them.”

The wine bottle only gets funnier upon further examination. The parents clearly went all-out in giving their son’s teachers the perfect gift. Right below an adorably nerdy photo of their son, they included a heartfelt message to the teachers, which reads, “Our child might be the reason you drink. So enjoy this bottle on us.” According to DJ, the parents gave the joke bottles to 10 of their son’s teachers in order to thank them for all of their hard work during the semester.
DJ’s tweet quickly went viral, as people could not get enough of these parents not so subtly throwing a bit of shade at their son. The photos have been retweeted more than 6,000 times and favorited more than 38,000 times in just a few days. Hopefully, this encourages other parents to step up their gift-giving game. Because nothing will let your kid’s teachers know just how much you appreciate all they have to put up with like a bottle of wine with your kid’s face on it.
