New Paul Walker ‘Fast and Furious’ Documentary Looks Super Emotional

Paramount Network

If you’re in need of a mid-day cry, look no further. Paramount Network has just debuted the first trailer for I Am Paul Walker, a documentary about the late actor. Best known for his role as Brian O’Connor in the Fast and Furious Franchise, Walker died in a car accident about five years ago after the car he was driving spun out of control and crashed into a tree at 100 miles per hour.

This is the first deep dive Walker’s actual life. For those who have familiarized themselves with his acting record, he never had much interest in being a movie star, in fact, for such a famous guy he wasn’t in a million movies. In the trailer, his manager describes this as him as always keeping “one foot in and one foot out” of the acting game.

It’s descriptions like that which make the trailer that much more heartbreaking. The documentary will show clips of him as a child in various home movies or going to his high school prom. The whole project humanizes Walker a great deal. Not that he ever wasn’t a regular guy, but you have to remember that Walker was mega famous, and this isn’t the kind of look that regular people are often given.

If anything, I am Paul Walker looks like a sad and emotional story about a super down to earth person, and worth checking out even if you aren’t a fan. It premieres on  August 11 at 9 PM
