Since Luke Perry‘s untimely death in March of this year, the world has been mourning the loss of the Beverly Hills, 90210 actor. Now, his son has created what’s probably the most heartfelt tribute we’ve seen yet. In honor of Perry’s final acting role in the new Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, 22-year old Jack Perry posted an emotional Instagram video for his late father.
The video shows drone footage of Perry (a wrestler who goes by the moniker Jungle Boy) climbing and sitting atop a billboard of his father’s character in the film. “Big premiere tonight,” the caption reads. “He deserved this, and I’m very proud of it. A stud in life, and forever after. The best of the best. Love you forever.”
The post has nearly 11,000 likes and tons of heartfelt comments from those who knew and loved Luke Perry, including his 90210 costars. “Such an emotional picture JP. You being in it brings tears to my eyes,” wrote Ian Ziering. Shannen Doherty wrote that she was “with you in spirit tonight”, ahead of Monday night’s Los Angeles premiere of the Tarantino film.
Luke Perry was only 52 years old when a massive stroke took his life. Not only did he star in 90s teen drama Beverly Hills 90210 but was a cast member of CW hit series Riverdale at the time of his death. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will hit theaters on July 26th and also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie.
