This Little Kid’s ‘Nun’-Themed Birthday Looks Totally Awesome (And A Little Concerning)

"Funny, cute, and slightly concerning."

Twitter / @dreeaaxo_

If the endless parade of Barney-themed kids’ birthday parties are getting a little monotonous, one little girl has a solution. Andrea, aka Twitter user @dreeaaxo_ , posted photos from her 3-year-old cousin Lucia’s The Nun-themed party, and it’s definitely something.

“So it was my cousins 3rd birthday and instead of having a normal theme she chose this,” Andrea wrote, along with photos of her cousin dressed in a black veil and zombie-like makeup. She followed it up with an image of Lucia posing with a friend, also in makeup, and wrote: “And if anyone was wondering yes her friends also participated in the theme.”

Honestly, we respect the commitment.

Andrea told Buzzfeed that Lucia’s interest in The Nun began when insisted on watching the movie at her grandmother’s house. As her birthday approached, Lucia told her mother she wanted a birthday party based on the horror film. And the rest is history.

The Nun director Jordan Peel clearly appreciates his young fan, as he retweeted the photos with the caption: “Does she have a Godfather?” Buzzfeed also reported that Bonnie Aaron (the actress who plays “the nun”), offered to send Lucia a gift.

Twitter users far and wide are also losing it over the adorably unsettling party. “I fully support whatever decision this child makes for the rest of their life,” one wrote. “Same,” another user replied. Some parents even shared their kids’ um, unique, birthday parties. One mom wrote, “I thought my son was the only one interested in these things!” alongside a photo of her son sitting in front of a cake with a fake bloody knife in it.

But one reaction, in particular, nailed it perfectly: “This is funny, cute, and slightly concerning.”

It’s definitely all three, but mostly, it’s pretty darn awesome.
