Jennifer Garner Went All-Out For Her Son’s Dragon-Themed Birthday

She even dressed up.

For her son’s seventh birthday, Jennifer Garner threw him a How to Train Your Dragon party—and she really committed to the theme, much to Samuel’s embarrassment.

A hilarious photo shared to her Instagram on Thursday shows the 46-year-old mom dressed as Astrid, who is Hiccup’s girlfriend, from the animated film. Carrying a Toothless-inspired cake, she sports the costume complete with furry boots, armor, and over-the-top face paint.

“Well, guess what. It turns out 7 is the age my kid stops thinking it’s cool when I dress up for the party,” the Camping actress captioned the picture, adding hashtags that read “first eye roll” and “anyone need an Astrid?”

Garner’s son is the youngest of three children that she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck. The pair, who finalized their divorce in October 2018, also have two daughters, Violet, 13, and Seraphina, 10.

And while Samuel may have been embarrassed at his birthday bash, the real-life Astrid thought Garner’s get-up was pretty great.

America Ferrera, who voices the female dragon-racing champ in the flick, complimented the 13 Going on 30 star writing, “Omg!! I love this!!! My twin!!” She also reshared the post in her own Instagram Story commenting, “Ahhhh!!!! Yeeeeessss!!! AMAZING @jennifer.garner as ASTRID!!”

Ferrera wasn’t the only one loving Garner as Astrid. Even the How to Train Your Dragon Instagram account chimed in, “We still think you’re cool,” to which Garner replied, “ENOUGH SAID. (Please tell my son. We are all dragons, all the time here.)”

A lot of other parents praised the mom of three for her creative costume in the comments, with one saying, “Coolest mom ever!”
