Called Spectrum Confections, the line consists of 38 different flavors including toasted marshmallow, pina colada, and strawberry cheesecake. Each jelly bean contains 10 mg of CBD oil, which is reported to have pain-relieving benefits.
“The jelly bean is perfect for the proper dosage [of CBD],” Klein, who founded Jelly Belly in 1976, told Cannabis Aficionado. “If people want a small dose, they eat one [bean]. If they want 20 ml, they can eat two.”
The patent for the weed jelly beans, which Klein told the cannabis website he believes “will help the world,” is still pending. However, Klein did say that not only do the beans come in a sugar-free version (along with original and sour) but they also include fruit juice because “we are trying to make it so that it can be as healthy as possible.”
While the new beans are already available for purchase in bulk online (the minimum required order is 8,000 pieces), they are currently sold out. Customers who are interested in ordering them once they’re restocked can fill out a form here.
And on social media, Klein’s big reveal is already garnering a lot of positive responses, as people clamor to get their hands on some of the CBD-infused beans. “Great idea! Hang on to this one, Mr. Klein,” wrote one user. “And thank you for bringing beneficial CBD and your delicious candies together.”
