Johnson celebrated his daughter Tiana’s third birthday with an adorable photo of the two of them along with the caption: “Happy Birthday to my sweetest lil’ Tia Giana. Loving, kind, tenacious and tough (like your mama;) and my greatest joy is being your daddy. I always, ‘got you’.”
He also wrote that Tia is finally beginning to understand that her “daddy is Maui from Moana” but rather than be impressed, it’s only caused her to ask one question: “Daddy do you know AquaMan?”
Johnson’s daughter is obsessed with Jason Momoa’s performance as the King of Atlantis and her devotion to Aquaman ended up continuing throughout her birthday celebration. Johnson and Tia ended up watching Aquaman and Johnson could not help but asking his daughter who she thought was cooler between her dad and the aquatic superhero. Tia answered Aquaman before he could finish the question.
And that wasn’t even close to the last of the Aquaman birthday festivities, as Johnson revealed that Tia insisted on having her Aquaman action figure join the family for breakfast, then she made Johnson draw a picture of Momoa as Aquaman so that she could hang it up in her room.
“Black Adam‘s gonna hand out a fresh Aqua Ass Whuppin’ if this disrespect keeps up,” Johnson wrote.
Fortunately, Johnson took the whole thing in stride and he even won some major dad points by getting Momoa to make a video wishing Tia a happy third birthday.
“I can’t thank my brother @prideofgypsies enough for making this adoring 3yr old’s birthday the best EVER,” Johnson wrote. “Her reaction is priceless and what it’s all about.”
So if you ever find yourself feeling down because your kids don’t think you’re cool, just remember that even if you were the most badass action star in the universe, your kids would still see you as their dorky dad.
