Internet Comes to Jason Momoa’s Defense After Trolls Attack His ‘Dad Bod’

Fans are coming to the actor's defense.

Body shaming is never acceptable, but when it’s directed at someone who’s physique resembles that of a Greek god, it’s particularly mind-boggling. Such is the case with Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa, who’s been attacked after a shirtless photo surfaced. Us Weekly posted a shot on their Instagram of the 39-year-old was enjoying an Italian getaway with his wife Lisa Bonet, their children, and stepdaughter Zoë Kravitz, and the trolls are criticizing his “dad bod.”

I know what you’re thinking, because I’m thinking it too: what “dad bod”? Maybe this isn’t the most flattering photo of Momoa ever taken, but he’s still in fantastic shape (and pushing 40, mind you). Also, like, angles are a thing. Even someone with a perfectly chiseled six-pack is going to look less chiseled from certain vantage points, or you know, when they’re relaxing on vacation. Nevertheless, the trolls decided to shame the Aquaman star for his alleged “dad bod.” “Omg, what happened to the abs?” one user wrote. “He looks so different,” said another.

Just as quickly as the trolls arrived, Momoa’s supporters swooped in to defend him. “If that’s ‘dad bod’ then I wish I had that!” one fan wrote. “Give the man a break, he isn’t actually a god for those getting confused…” “Leave the guy alone,” said another. “He will be back in shape for Aquaman 2. Right now, he’s just enjoying his vacation with his family.”

The whole thing is completely absurd, of course, but so what even if Momoa has let himself go a bit? Ain’t nothing wrong with a dad bod. Or a mom bod. Or any bod.
