The New ‘Frozen the Musical’ Trailer Is Here, So Prepare to “Let It Go” All Over Again

The show opens very soon.

Just when the Frozen craze seemed like it was over, Walt Disney Theatrical Productions has debuted the trailer for Frozen the Musical on Broadway. Say goodbye to your hopes and dreams, because your kids are going to be obsessed all over again.

As it is wont to do, Disney looks like it didn’t skimp out on funds to make the whole show look awesome as hell. The Broadway version of Frozen will feature all of the songs from the animated film, along with new songs exclusive to the musical.

Tony Award-winning musical director Stephen Oremus – who notably worked on both Wicked and The Book of Mormon –crafted both vocal and dance arrangements for the Frozen show. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, the show will also feature director Thomas Schumacher, who has been with Disney since 1988.

Disney movies tend to take over Broadway when they make the leap to the stage: Disney’s Aladdin hit Broadway in 2014, and was immediately a huge commercial and artistic success. Of course, that’s nothing compared to the massive and long-running success of The Lion King, which has been performed on Broadway since 1997.

Frozen the Musical will likely be greeted with a similarly rabid response. Frozen isn’t just the highest-grossing animated film of all time; it’s the tenth highest-grossing film ever.

The musical just started previewing at the legendary St. James Theatre in New York City, and will run there until December 2018. The mad rush for tickets has already begun, but there are plenty of seats available in the coming months. Tickets can be bought on the musical’s website.
