Everything We Know About New ‘Frozen 2’ Songs

It sounds like we've got a new "Let It Go."

As much as everyone has enjoyed singing “Let It Go” for nearly five years, fans are eagerly keeping an eye for some new Frozen songs to belt out. Fans will have to wait until the movie comes out in 2019, but co-director of Frozen and the highly anticipated sequel, Jennifer Lee, gave Variety a little bit more insight into the songs of Frozen 2. She said that the first song was just finished off by husband-and-wife team Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

“We have a new song that I think is an evolution,” Lee told Variety. “It’s its own song…Bobby [Lopez] and Kristen [Anderson-Lopez] just delivered it three weeks ago. We’ve been working with them for two years and this song just came in and I love it.”

It sounds like the sequel has found the next “Let It Go.” Now, it’ll be interesting to see if they let Anna (Kristen Bell) have her own Elsa (Idina Menzel) moment.

There are reportedly four songs in total that have been chosen the movie, so three songs still need to be polished off. To keep fans on their toes, Lee also divulged that we won’t be getting just another adventure in Arendelle.

“They’re going to go far out of Arendelle.” Lee teased, implying that the sisters might be in for an epic journey.

The first film’s main cast Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Josh Gad (Olaf) and Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) are all set to return to the magical world of Frozen. Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) and Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us) are also reportedly joining the sequel.

This news comes a few weeks after Disney moved up Frozen 2’s release date by a week. The film now comes out on November 22, 2019, so that’s one less week for young fans to wait to see Disney’s favorite pair of princesses.
