Elmo Teaches Cersei Respect in Hilarious Game of Thrones-Sesame Street Mash-Up

The GoT ending you never knew you needed.

Winter is coming—and so is respect, according to a new video released by Sesame Street. The popular kid’s show took on Game of Thrones in a mash-up that’s as entertaining as it is educational.

“Respect brings us together, and if anyone can convince Game of Thrones’s Cersei and Tyrion to get along, a familiar furry red friend might just be the one,” the video description reads, along with the hashtag #RespectBringsUsTogether.

In the clip, Elmo visits King’s Landing, where he attempts to help estranged siblings Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) resolve their issues.

Introducing himself as Elmo of Sesame Street, the beloved Muppet then tells the duo, “Elmo thinks that you two need to respect each other. When Elmo has a problem with his friends like Abby or Cookie Monster, Elmo doesn’t get upset, Elmo listens and learns from what they have to say.”

And somehow his simple solution works. Tyrion responds, “If we stop fighting and work together, we can be stronger” and both he and Cersei agree to try to get along.

The crossover kicks off Sesame Street‘s “Respect Brings Us Together” campaign along with a similar remix of Cookie Monster in Westworld and a whole cast of muppets in a music video with hip-hop artist Common.

Jeffrey D. Dunn, President and CEO of Sesame Workshop, explained in a news release, “Our hope with this campaign is that a lighthearted look at a very serious subject can help us all pause for a moment to remember the value in respecting the viewpoints of others, even when they differ greatly from our own.”
