Former Vice President Joe Biden did not contract COVID-19 from Donald Trump during the recent Presidential debate. Biden does not have the coronavirus. After Trump revealed he and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19, former Vice President Joe and Dr. Jill Biden were tested “out of an abundance of caution,” according to CNBC news. Biden also tweeted about his test results on Friday afternoon.
Biden reminded everyone to “wear a mask, keep social distance, and wash your hands.” Prior to the presidential debate, Trump had mocked Biden for wearing a “big” mask and has frequently downplayed the effectiveness of face-coverings against the spread of COVID-19. Opponents of Trump have obviously pointed out the specific fact that a prominent anti-mask figure like Trump did contract COVID-19, while a proponent of masks and social distancing, Joe Biden, did not.
I’m happy to report that Jill and I have tested negative for COVID. Thank you to everyone for your messages of concern. I hope this serves as a reminder: wear a mask, keep social distance, and wash your hands.

Obviously, COVID-19 doesn’t care about your political party or whether or not you are prepared. As America faces the 2020 flu season, the prospect of an actual second wave of COVID-19 seems increasingly likely. As one Democratic advisor to Biden publicly pointed out: “This election isn’t about Trump getting COVID, it’s about America getting COVID.”
