Dad Hilariously Pranks Kids on April Fool’s Day With Help From Reddit

"I put vanilla pudding in a mayonnaise jar. My kids were horrified as I ate it while watching them open their Easter presents."

Reddit: narcolepsyinc

For many parents, April Fool’s Day is the only time of year when they can prank their kids without feeling like a jerk. But what are the best pranks to play on kids, that won’t leave them as devastated as Jimmy Kimmel’s Halloween candy trick? One dad turned to Reddit to find out, and boy did he hit the jackpot. The father, who goes by Narcolepsyinc on Reddit, used Askreddit and uncovered this beauty: Put vanilla pudding in an empty mayonnaise jar and then casually pretend to eat the mayo as everyone around you is rightfully disgusted.

Since April Fool’s Day and Easter fell on the same day this year, Narcolepsyinc pulled his prank while the kids were opening up their Easter presents. And according to Narcolepsyinc, it worked perfectly, as he shared a photo of himself pretending to devour the mayo jar with the caption: “Using a prank idea from Askreddit, I put vanilla pudding in a mayonnaise jar. My kids were horrified as I ate it while watching them open their Easter presents.”

The post quickly reached the front page of Reddit and despite being uploaded less than 12 hours ago, the disgustingly devious photo has already received more than 98,000 upvotes and over 2,000 comments. The responses from Reddit are unsurprisingly hilarious, with everyone praising narcolepsyinc’s level of commitment to this subtle but incredibly effective prank. Reddit user Kuni64 praised the dad for nailing the look of a man who would resort to eating mayo straight out of the jar, writing, “You even have the eyes of a man who’s lost all hope. The kind of man I would expect to actually be eating mayo from the jar.”
