Ciara Shared the Funny Thing Her Son Said to President Biden

by Devan McGuinness

Ask any parent and they can probably tell you the last embarrassing thing their kid said, very publicly, probably to a lot of laughs, because we all have a story like that. But the scale of regular people’s stories are, well, usually small: these stories take place in our living rooms or in the local grocery store. But for celebrities, it’s totally different. Like Ciara. Her 7-year-old son Future had a moment like that when he yelled something at President Joe Biden during a visit to the White House.

Appearing as a virtual guest in an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ciara spoke about a meeting with first lady Dr. Jill Biden back in November. Ciara and her kids, Future, 4-year-old Sienna, and 1-year-old Win, visited the White House to help promote COVID-19 vaccinations for kids. Ciara told Ellen the meeting with Dr. Biden was “incredible” and she came away with a hilarious story, too.

“Oh my goodness, we had the best time. Dr. Biden is amazing,” Ciara said. “It was incredible being there and walking to greet her for the first time on the East Lawn.” And then she revealed what happened when her kids met Dr. Biden’s husband, President Biden just before he headed off to Marine One.

“Before [the president] walked off, he came to say hi to us… Future, the first thing he said to the president was, ‘I’m vaccinated!'” Ciara said. “And the president yells back, ‘I’m vaccinated too!’ That was really cute and really sweet.”

In addition to the hilarious story, Ciara shared that she and the kids “literally had so much fun” while at the White House. “Baby Win was like, ‘I don’t care where we are, but all I know is this White House is a playground,'” Ciara joked.

For Ciara, the time spent at the White House was special to her. “There were so many sweet moments,” Ciara said. “That was a beautiful time being there, sitting down with the first lady.”
