Chris Hemsworth’s Kid Trains Just Like Thor In Cute Viral Video

The Avengers may have found their newest member.

Nick Fury is always keeping an eye out for possible heroes to join the Avengers and it looks like the superteam could have a new member in training, as Thor actor Chris Hemsworth posted an Instagram video of his son working on his punching skills. And, based on the short video, it looks like he may prove to be worthy of wielding Thor’s hammer once his old man retires from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Introducing the next heavyweight champion of the universe,” Hemsworth captioned the video, which shows his son throwing punches as Hemsworth is beaming with dad pride.

Considering his son is only seven, it’s probably a bit early for him to be taking his dad’s place in the Avengers. And based on the caption, he may be more interested in boxing than fighting crime at this point in his life, which is a choice Hemsworth appears to support.

However, it’s impossible to overlook the fact that he is dressed up almost exactly like Thor, even wearing his trademark red cape. A coincidence? Unlikely, as Elsa Pataky, Hemsworth’s wife, posted a photo of her hubby and son, alongside Hemsworth’s fitness trainer Luke Zocchi and stunt artist Bobby Holland Hanton, on Instagram. And if you look closely, you’ll notice that their son is still wearing the same superhero costume. So he clearly has at least moderate interest in taking over the family business.

The only question is which son are we actually seeing in the video? Hemsworth and his wife are raising a set of identical seven-year-olds named Tristan and Sasha. And it’s never made clear which of the two are the ones showing off their mean right hook in the video. Perhaps it’s all part of an elaborate scheme to keep the future hero’s identity a secret, as superheroes are often wont to do.
