Have you ever visited Disney World sans kids? According to a questionable new op-ed in the New York Post, it’s not cool and is part of a growing trend among millennials to, once again, ruin everything. “The piece was prompted by renewed interest in one specific social media rant from nearly a year ago.” Posting in a since-deleted Facebook post, an anonymous mom basically blamed her entire negative experience at Disney World because single adults without children somehow were better at managing the lines than her. Her rant was foul-mouthed and confusing. So why do we care again?
Well, though we agree that parent shaming is not cool, this mom was probably more than a little out of line. And though it’s been nine months, the screenshots of said rant have been making the rounds again, which has strangely lead to a whole new cycle of people freaking out about the rant online, thanks in part, to the new op-ed published on July 26 in the New York Post.
Here’s how scores of single people are clapping-back against the foul-mouthed mama.
Sounds like she's resentful she's not having fun because she's too overwhelmed with toddler needs, and envious of unencumbered women (likely her own age) who are actually having fun. Sounds like she's the one who needs to grow up and stop blaming others for her own choices.

The irony that this mother doesn’t realize is the amount of entitlement oozing from her that’s often stereotyped to millennials. Of course with a three year old (joining chorus- why would you bring a three year old to Disney?), this woman is probably a millennial also.

Plenty of those millennials took the opportunity to troll the mom.
Oh look, two millennials in Disney. What will we ever do 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/eRsNuAq9Uw

Adding fuel to this fire, the New York Post’s op-ed took advantage of the outrage with a biased and contrarian take, this one saying that going to Disney World is “weird” based on questionable assumptions — that millennials who visit Disney aren’t taking European vacations, that they haven’t seen Booksmart — even while acknowledging all of the ways that Disney parks are being engineered to appeal to adults who visit without kids. Basically, the Post is floating the idea that Disney is making its parks more attractive to people without kids on purpose, which is somehow suggestive of a larger cultural problem, which is never really explained or explored. Further, the “evidence” the op-ed offers is along the lines of the fact that there are more ways to drink booze at a Disney park than ever before. So, essentially, the Post has a thin case here, and if the result of this “trend” is more booze at Disney parks, then, you know, parents can benefit from that too!
Cue another round of snarky reactions!
I’m going to make a “childless millennial” shirt and wear it to Disney

Seriously tho, who wants to help me organize an Unofficial Childless Millennial Day at Disney? Wear your sluttiest shorts and meet me in the pretzel line, fellow weird adult babies. https://t.co/kDgH0RUbUT

Of course, no one really has any idea who the original poster is, or even whether or not she’s a real person/mom. It could, as one Twitter user pointed out, be a very elaborate marketing ploy.
the whole “controversy” abt whether it’s ok for hot childless millennials to visit disney world is just a ruse by the horny old population of orlando to trick hot childless millennials into visiting central florida out of spite. don’t fall for it!
