Carrie Underwood’s Baby Has a Hilarious Reaction to Her Mom and Dad Singing

"Everyone's a critic."

If your spouse is an American Idol champion, chances are your baby’s going to prefer their singing over yours. Mike Fisher learned that lesson the hard way in a hilarious video posted by his wife, Idol winner and country star Carrie Underwood.

Over the weekend, Underwood shared a clip of Fisher attempting to soothe their 5-month-old son Jacob with his best rendition of Vince Gill’s “I Still Believe in You.” It, well…didn’t go as planned. Jacob continued to wail until Underwood took over, obviously nailing the vocals. Immediately, the infant turned toward his mom and was completely calm.

To ensure it wasn’t a fluke, Fisher and Underwood took several turns serenading their son. Each time, Jacob cried during Fisher’s song and calmed down instantly during Underwood’s, making it extremely clear who’s singing he likes more. Fisher came in strong with a reasonable defense, playfully commenting on the post: “The real reason is he was hungry and wanted your food. #notmysinging.”

Underwood also added the caption: “Everyone’s a critic.”

  1. How comfortable and prepared do you feeling speaking to your children about race and systemic racism?
That's not a conversation I plan to have.
I feel prepared. I will teach them that everyone is equal.
I feel unprepared and uncomfortable, but plan to have the conversation.
I feel prepared. I will teach them that inequality is a core American experience.

People are going nuts over the funny video, including musician and fellow parent Justin Timberlake, who speaks for everyone with his comment: “This is the greatest thing I’ve seen all year.” Another user pointed out that though Fisher clearly isn’t getting anywhere with his singing, he’s got plenty of other skills he can share with his son: “This is so funny. Thankfully Mike has other talents. 🤣.”

Perhaps Jacob will follow in his mother’s footsteps and go onto be a music star – clearly, the kid has great taste already.
