Captain Underpants is returning to Netflix for a brand-new Dreamworks miniseries, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants in Space! And judging by this exclusive clip, the potty humor kids have loved since the first Captain Underpants book translates well to zero gravity environs.
The clip shows George, Harold, and Captain Underpants experimenting with F.L.U.S.H.E.R., a space toilet that can flush anything the trio throws at it, from entire rolls of toilet paper to books to salami to a piano. Unfortunately, when they accidentally flush dangerous space chemicals the toilet transforms, Transformer-style, into an evil toilet robot that goes after them.
Captain Underpants steps in to fight the robot mano a mano, and it sure looks like he’s secured a victory until F.L.U.S.H.E.R. wakes up and activates its flushing power to suck the good guys back just as it appears they’ve made their escape.
“I’ve never met a toilet I couldn’t clog,” Captain Underpants says, one of several references to his toilet-destroying acumen. He pushes George and Harold out of the way and lets himself get sucked back into the F.L.U.S.H.E.R. The clip ends with Captain Underpants sitting astride the robot, struggling to clog it, as a flash of light envelops the screen.
We’ll have to wait until The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants in Space! hits Netflix on July 10 to know what happened for sure, but it’s never a good idea to bet against the toilet-clogging power of the series’ hero.
